Recognising the need of Mainland Chinese students for alternative pathways leading to overseas studies, Yew Wah International Education Foundation is planning to offer Hong Kong Yew
Chung Community College (YCCC)'s Associate Degree Programmes. It is most suitable for higher secondary school leavers who plans to pursue overseas university studies.
Associate Degree is a higher education qualification recognized around the world. In the US and Canada, it is equivalent to the first two years of university studies; in the UK, Australia and Hong Kong, it is equivalent to the first year.
YCCC's three-year
Associate Degree (AD) Programme comprises:
- a one-year University Foundation Diploma
(UFD) Programme, leading to
- a two-year Associate Degree (AD) Programme.
Students may enter at UFD level or AD Year 1 level.
The three-year Programme emphasises the training of language,
learning, thinking and problem-solving skills to prepare students
for effective overseas university study. The Programme will be
taught in English.
YCCC has made over 30 articulation agreements
with universities in the UK, US, Australia, Canada and Europe.
Graduates of the YCCC
AD Programme in Hong Kong with appropriate grades and English levels
can move on to the final two years of further study at many overseas
universities and obtain a bachelor’s degree in a course of
their choice in over 100 different subject areas including
psychology, law, economics, education, political science,
business administration, marketing, hotel and tourism management,
cultural studies, language studies, English for business, communication
and media studies.
